These leaves are “damaged.” Or, you could look at it that they have provided food for insects in the woods. There is still beauty in these leaves. When you look at them, they are actually transparent in places. You can see the leaf below. If we are disfigured, we try to hide it with makeup, clothing, etc. The leaves don’t have that ability. Are we hiding when we don’t need to? Perhaps there is someone who needs to hear our story so they can feel whole again. Be brave—tell your story to someone.

Congratulations, Marcia! Well done.
ReplyDeleteI love this (and you.) Sunday a friend who had been in a fire years ago wore a beautiful summer dress to church. It was sleeveless. I knew her arm was burned but I didn't know before how badly as I had only seen her in longer sleeves. I really admired her ability to wear a becoming dress and not let her scars keep her from it. I was inspired. As I age I might end of wearing covering from head to toe if I'm not willing to reveal myself physically. But how much more important to also share our stories, our selves. Thank you for this beautiful reinforcement of this thought. Maybe God is trying to tell me something.
ReplyDeleteThat's rich, Marcia. Thank you. :)
